Thank you for your interest in adopting!
Let's start with the basics, our dogs typically come from remote communities in Northern Ontario and are what we like to call a Northern Designer or A Muttsky. Our dogs tend to grow to be medium to large dogs averaging 40lb-70lbs, sometimes larger.
We are never certain what breed the dogs are exactly as we often only know what mom looks like if she comes in with the puppies or comes in pregnant. We are certain they all have husky in them. Our dogs super shed, will probably howl rather than bark and most likely will be trying to outwit you all the time.
If you are looking for a small to medium, hypo allergenic dog we are unfortunately not the rescue for you.
Dogs require a lot of work, time and commitment. We mandate training for all dogs no matter what age you adopt at. Our dogs are smart and fast learners, with routine and structure they all succeed and make wonderful family members.
Our adoption donation fee ranges from $600-$800 depending on the age and vetting completed on the dog. All of our dogs are vetted before being adopted and are given their age appropriate vaccinations, spayed/neutered if old enough and given a 1 month flea/tick/heartworm preventative. They also come with a registered microchip and have been heartworm tested.
For an application to be considered for screening, everyone in the household must be over the age of 4, all animals in your household must be spayed/neutered, be up to date on all vaccinations, be on heartworm, flea/tick preventatives and all family members must be on board. We do not adopt out to households that already have multiple dogs (more than 2 dogs already) in their homes. There are several steps to our application process and it may take a little bit to be approved so please be patient with us as we are all volunteers who do this in between our real jobs.
In light of the application process we ask that you please only apply if you have not applied else where, we promise it is worth the wait!
Please know that as our dogs are all fostered in private homes we do not arrange meet and greets prior to an approved application for adult dogs. Before arranging a meeting with the dog you are applying for, you will need to have been screened for adoption approval.
We thank all applicants for applying however only those being considered will be contacted.
If you are looking to add a dog or puppy to your family and meet the above requirements please apply today:
